Biggest Assignment of my Life...done.

So many little things are bringing the greatest pleasure to me lately! For my Infancy class I am taking, we had to do what is called a Home Visit, where we go work with a family and assess the development of a child under the age of three. I chose to work with Brandon's aunt Jenny and uncle Spencer and their four children because they are absolutely adorable. Here is a picture of the four kids, Brady, Avery, Ruby and Crew. They are all about two years older now than in that picture, but Jenny doesn't actually like facebook that much so she never updates it! Anyways, I had to write about my experience after doing two home visits, and it was supposed to be between 13 and 15 pages long, plus an appendix. I ended up writing 16 pages had a 10 page appendix, so that plus 2 pages of table of contents, an abstract, and a cover sheet put me at 30 pages! I felt so awesome when I finished it! I even had it bound with a little plastic coil :) I will have to take a picture so you can all see it!! Never have I ever written a 30 page essay. I am just so dang happy.
It is way dreary here today, and a little warmer than usual, so that means it is probably going to snow tonight. Weather.com thinks so too. I just can't wait to be done with work on Wednesday next week so we can get on the road to Idaho Falls! I love holidays with the family so so much. I mean, all we do is eat, and eating and I have a love/hate relationship, but I love being with everyone and continuing traditions we have had since I was little. The Melanders will be gone this year though, and I really don't like that. Alyssa and I always go shopping on black friday, if we wake up, but going without her this year will feel so weird!

Sophie!!

Say hello to the newest addition of my soon-to-be family. This is Sophie :) I got her on Saturday from the humane society and I love her so so much! I feel bad leaving her at home all the time while I am working, but I'm glad that Brandon took me back to get her haha.

It's official!!!

I AM ENGAGED!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!! We were watching Scrubs the other day, and in it, they quote the movie when Harry Met Sally in saying "when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." I feel like we reached that stage a while ago haha. But I am so excited! We are getting married November 11 and I don't think it will come soon enough!! I am so lucky to be marrying Brandon. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened in my entire life :)

Now I'm sure everyone wants to hear the story so here goes:

Last night we were going to be celebrating his birthday (which is on Wednesday), so we went to a play then were going to go to Chili's for dinner. We left the play, and he told me that his mom wanted us to go check on a water leak at one of her empty apartments at the complex she manages. We are asked to do little errands like this all the time, so I didn't think anything of it. We got to the apartment and he opened the door, and there was a candle lit dinner waiting for us, complete with sparkling cider, costa vida (my favorite!), a single daffodil, and some nice piano music in the background. At this point I thought maybe he would propose, but I wasn't quite sure, and quite frankly didn't want to get my hopes up. He told me to dig in, so I poured some ranch on my salad, then went to take a bite and just hit a box instead. Luckily the box had been wrapped in saran wrap haha. I opened the box, pulled out the ring box and opened it, and he got down on his knee, said some cute things, then asked me to marry him. And of course I said yes :) I will post some pictures of the ring later, my camera is dead.

But like I said, I am the luckiest girl ever. He is my best friend, and I can't wait to start the rest of my life with him!!!

It sure has been a long time since I have posted anything on here!!! But just for the sake of family without facebook, I shall post my spring break pictures :) I went to St. George with my boyfriend Brandon, and we went to Vegas for one night too. Our first day there we hiked Angel's Landing, and I'm pretty sure I about died. I am so out of shape! The second day we played around on some rocks, and went through a thing called Fat Man's Squeeze (you'll understand as soon as you see the pictures). Then we fed the ducks! Our third day we went to Vegas and just hung out. I don't really have pictures from Vegas because it turns out my new adventure camera doesn't have flash on it. Brandon's friend Kyle took pictures on his camera but has yet to post them on facebook, so as soon as that happens I will post them on the blog! Love you all!
